Michelle Rakshys
Marketing Manager/ The Syndicate
Michelle Rakshys started her career in the music industry the same way many people do - by going to local concerts. Her love of the hardcore and punk scene led her to booking shows in her hometown of Wilkes-Barre, PA, and eventually to a position at her college radio station, WRKC. After graduating with a dual degree in Political Science and Mass Communication, she moved to New York City to pursue her master's degree at NYU in Music Business.
While attending school, she landed a position at The Syndicate in their marketing department as an account manager. Michelle also organizes events at the Syndicate, and runs their internship program. Since 2006, Michelle has been teaching Music Business classes at her alma mater, King's College and is a member of the Music and Entertainment Industry Educators Association.
In addition to her work with Women in Music, she is an active member of Mensa and continues to book hardcore and punk shows at multiple venues in New York City.
